My articles include: (1) a We Try It (p. 334) about scuba diving lessons (and pictures of me in a wetsuit--oh my!); (2) a Passenger Window (p. 347) about the old Creamland Dairy building located on Coal Avenue and the story behind the mural by the very talented Albuquerque artist Gayle Van Horn; (3) (my personal fav) a "Trendspotting: All that sparkles!" (p. 330) featuring fabulous and shiny sequined accessories; (4) a Q&A for ShelfLife (p. 278) with Rio Rancho author Annam Manthiram about her new book, After the Tsunami; (5) a Creatives profile (p. 274) with the master colorist and printmaker Jacob Tarazon-Matteson (who debuts his new print series at New Grounds Print Workshop & Gallery on Friday, March 16); and (6) a sidebar for the Top Docs cover story (p. 135) about a cutting-edge cure for cancer (spoiler alert: it relates to something I'm terrified of...).
My internship was one for the record books. I had a blast exploring the Duke City and sharing the best of it with readers. Oh, how I want to write full-time for a lifestyle magazine in the future!
